High Hoops is an art series celebrating the Denver Nuggets basketball team. The name draws inspiration from Denver’s iconic “mile high” altitude at 5,280 feet, making the basketball hoops in the Nugget’s Ball Arena stand at a higher elevation than any other team in the league. Each of the pieces of High Hoops features unique design elements meant to portray either the game matchup or natural features that support the story behind told within the piece. High Hoops began during the historic 2022-2023 when the Nuggets won their first ever NBA Championship. That season consisted of artwork for 18 different matchups over the course of nine months.
